Pakistani Shia cleric calls US as a biggest hurdle in resolving Palestine issue

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) -  Allama Amin Shaheedi Deputy Secretary General Majlis-e Wahdat-e Muslimeen (MWM) said that it is the duty of Muslims around the world to observe International Day of Al-Quds. “As human beings it is our obligation to raise voice for the rights of oppressed Palestinian nation”, he said. He said that Imam Ali (A.S) has also ordered Muslims to join the oppressed. He added that for last six decades Israel has been slaughtering innocent people of Palestine. Allama Amin Shaheedi said that Palestinians are brave nation and fighting for their rights despite Israeli aggression. Religious leader said that Muslims around the world should support the Palestinian cause and make some practical efforts for the liberation of Al-Quds. He demanded Israel to immediately stop violation of fundamental rights of people of Palestine. Allama Amin Shaheedi said that Iran is the only Muslim country which is fighting for the rights of Muslims around the world. “Iran is the center of Muslim Ummah”, he said. Religious leader said that the United States is the biggest hurdle in solving the long standing issues of Palestine. “US wants Israel to exist in Middle East as their puppet”, he said. He asked Muslims to follow the example of Father of Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini who had lived a simple life but refused to surrender before American pressure. Allama Amin Shaheedi praised the role of Imam Khomeini for inaugurating Al-Quds day as an integral part of Ramadan so that Muslims would never forget their responsibility and duty towards Palestine and all oppressed people in the world. He urged Muslims around the world to observe International Day of Al-Quds to support the legitimate rights of Muslims of Palestine. Religious leader criticized the leadership of Muslim world, saying that many leaders of Muslim countries have become tools in the hands of West. He added that the overall misery of the Muslims is due to the cooperation of Muslim leaders with anti-Islam powers. “We must remain vigilant against anti--Islam conspiracies”, he advised. Allama Amin Shaheedi was of the opinion that the leaders of Muslim Ummah should symbolize the wishes of their people. He asked Muslim nations to unite against imperialist forces to bring peace and stability in the world. He said that the struggle of Muslims will continue till the liberation of Al-Quds./129
